Rules and Guidelines Update...

Journal Entry: Sat Jul 17, 2010, 11:11 AM

You may have noticed the rules and guidelines section expanded...

As it read now...

.:1:. Only TWO deviations a WEEK per person! Please don't submit your whole galleries.
.:2:. No 18+, hate, and racist subject stuff please.
.:3:. No Copies, Traces, and Theft of Copyrighted Work. Please read here for more info. Trust me...you don't wanna get flamed out of dA if you meet the wrong people. (Don't worry though. We are not those people.)
.:4:. You can submit your work to our Best of Members Work if you think you have the stuff. We judge by background, shading, amount of detail, effort, composition/idea, and skill. You don't have to have everything, like background is not a requirement for all Best of Members' arts. If your deviation is denied, don't sweat it.  Do your best to improve it and learn so the next time you submit it, you'll have a much MUCH better chance next time. However, If you want an explanation, please note us!
.:5:. If you get declined and still want to show your art to the world, submit to the Members' Zone, a.k.a. the faves!
.:6:. If you submit your own tutorial to the tutorial folder in the gallery, we will also have high standards. If it gets declined, submit to the Members Tutorials folder. Who knows? Even if it doesn't fit our standard, it maybe helpful for someone else.
.:7:. Submit materials, homework to any of our lessons or a contest entry into the gallery! Everything else goes to member zone/favorites!!!

The folders that members are suppose to have opened that are in the gallery are...
-Best of Members Work
-Newest Tuts under Manga Academy Tutorial (opened for suggestions as well)
-Homework (which included events work as well unless we adjust the folders again...we'll let you know)
-MangaAcademy Materials (opened for suggestions as well)

Faves
All the folders besides Featured (we'll figure out about the Featured folder because it was suppose to be the Best of in the faves) and the catch folder is the Critique folder.

Let us know if you have questions!

i haven't subbed any of my work :S i think the members should think before they upload their work. cuz they are just spamming, 1 of 5 deviations catches my eye ;\

they should post it in the critique section AND BE OPEN TO CRITIQUE...*sigh* still, compared to before, the art quality in featured has decreased ;'(

that's just MY opinion

The thing is, we have no idea how to treat the Featured folder now...and even then we weren't quite sure. In the past, the 'catch' folder, that folder in which when deviants do not designate a folder (I believe some people don't really know how to designate a folder), was the featured folder. So in the past, if you don't designate a folder, you accidentally put it into the Feature folder and then if we kept that high level, we may have put them to the test even though they may have just wanted to be accepted only. Now the catch folder is the Critique folder so if they don't designate a folder, it goes there now by default. (Besides, I was gonna sort that folder anyways.)

In addition, we do vote for every deviation that goes in. But then again, now we are not quite sure what to do now with that Featured Faves because now we have the Best of Members Folder which will function as the previous Feature Folder that you described if not harsher. I am gonna sort that Featured Faves folder but now there is not much of use...
