New Manga Creator's Network
A new creative-network specifically for manga makers has opened up its Beta Site for testing/feedback:
ANNOUNCEMENTSHey everyone, I've added a folded specifically for members to post their own artwork to! Let me know if you're able to submit to it. Thanks!
Also, please comment on what kind of tutorial you'd like to see next!
New folder for all member's work! There's been a LOOOOOT of submissions to the wrong folders because we've had no folder in our actual group outside favorites for our member's artwork that doesn't ave to do with tutorials and all that so I added one for you to add your personal artwork to.
Calling all mods/contributors/teachersPlease comment here if you're still active in here- because if not, I'm going to start demoting you and looking for active members to provide the help I need!
We need to get this group back up and runnng.
Alternatively, if you're interested in being a teacher or mod, please let me know and tell me your experience with running/moderating/drawing skills, the time in which you did this(for mods n such), and your availability.
NEW ADMIN!! :)Dear members, teachers, mods and the new admin!
I've been mod and admin of this group for years so now I figured it'd be time for me to retire.
In the future I'll just be a normal member like each of you since I have loads of work with university
and want to get back my drawing spirit and if deviantART means only work for me that just won't work
out. That was a very hard decision but I feel like it needed to be decided.
I picked :iconTahani-Kun: as your new admin and I bet she'll be doing epic since she has already been
co-admin for a very long time and was reaaaaaly helpful.
Greetings & goodbye

Why The Staff Is Wrong About TracingFriends at deviantART, here is the article that was part of the inspiration to create this club. Before you can understand this article you'll need to have read it.
While I have the utmost respect and appreciation for the job that the CEA team does, I was shocked, disgusted, and incredibly disappointed when I came across the aforementioned article. I've been a member of deviantART for quite some time and I remember the days before all this tracing nonsense was allowed.
Given recent events which I will not directly link to, but I'm sure many of you know what I'm talking about- it's hard for me to believe that the staff is still turning a blind eye to tracing, still letting this farce go on. In the past few months there have been several incidents related to tracing that have caused large stirs in deviantART, and I thought it would perhaps become clear that a lot of people are angry. It's not just a few people. Remember the uproar o
DAM your photosNo disrespect intended...
Digital Asset Management (DAM)is a tool you should learn about.
I want to present two basic ideas, in 3 simple steps (and tips), to help you manage your photography work better. The first is managing you work on you computer (organizing it), and the second is the keywords and tags you add to it when submitting your work on-line.
A few words of introduction first. If you are a starting photographer, this is very important for you. The experienced ones will find it hard to Re-manage all the work they have done, and they probably have a system they work with (working, or not). However, if you are starting now to accumulate your photographs and submitting it on-line, this is essential for you, and easier to do.
Shell we begin?
1. Managing your photographs
This simple method is based on dates and places. The steps are all centered on creating a folder structure organized around the dates and places you took the pictures on.
This organization method is based on date
An open letter to Spyed***IMPORTANT***
Before you read the following letter that I have written to dA, please take the time to familiarize yourself with the situation at hand. Some people might think that it is a trivial matter in a sense it is as these are merely features on a website but it is the principal behind the actions that matters.
A world famous electronic musician recently released a music / digital art montage on DVD. I have nothing against this musician himself in the past he has done some wonderful work and I will admit without reservation that I have several of his CDs. Recently his DVD was advertised through a top journal on dA this musician even became a member of the website. But why? DeviantART is not a place for music files that was decided early on. So what does this artist have to offer for the community?
Recently he was subscribed till hell freezes over a status reserved for select staff members. He was also given the ability to cu
Photography Tips and TutorialsThese are a selection of tips and tutorials both here and on deviantArt that can be useful for before, during, and after portions of taking a good photo. This was originally created as a gathering of useful information for the members of PhotographersClub, but they though it so helpful that it should be shared even further!
Tips & Tutorials on deviantART
First off, did you know you can go here, http://browse.deviantart.com/resources/tutorials/photography/ to search through all of the photography tutorials available here on dA!
CAMERAS, QUALITY, AND JARGON!
Camera Buying Guide - A very helpful guide for deciding which camera is best suited for your needs!
How to buy a digial camera - Another great camera buying guide!
Establishing a Process for Better ArtMany of you are likely to have at least a general grasp on what I'm going to talk about, but for just as many, if not more people, this is going to be new and very beneficial to your progress and success as an artist.
The topic of discussion today is process. We all have a process for our work, some of us are very meticulous, while others are more sporadic, but there's generally a few basic steps that any successful artist is likely to employ.
LACK OF PLANNING
The main problem I see, and that most art instructors are likely to see, is lack of planning in people's work. People get too excited for their idea, and they jump right into their final piece, maybe after doing only one sketch.
From there, they end up struggling as they try to finish the piece. Maybe the background wasn't well planned enough, maybe the pose was too stiff or didn't make sense, maybe the composition is bad, but it's too late to fix, maybe the line art was too sloppy and the piece is suffering, or maybe they
Choosing Your CameraA GUIDE TO HELP CHOOSE A CAMERA
I get this question in my messages/emails everyday so I thought I'd write a news article to get it out there for you! That way my emails don't go unanswered either.
QUESTION - What is the best camera to buy?
ANSWER - There is no 'best' camera out there, a camera is suited to what YOU want. Think about it, if you old school and want a vintage look to your photographs, then the best result for the style you want would be a film camera, possibly a Holga / Polaroid.
If you are a budding fashion/portrait/landscape photographer, then you'd go for a higher end digital photographer, unless you want to go back to photography roots and use film for this.
On the other hand, if you're a documentary photographer you could use digital or film. If you're a budding Henri Cartier-Bresson, you might be using film exclusively, to achieve that very raw film look.
If you're a professional photographer then you need something that matches your job,
Don`t be RudeSo, been wanting to write one of these for a long time, i have made journals regarding this subject before.
So, Basically what i want to say is that people should show more support to the people who upload free-to-use stuff on this site.
Icons, wallpapers, themes, stocks, all free to use, all they ask for is a thanks or a fav if you use it, and they hardly get any!
I am not sure why it is like this, but it seems to be a common thing, in all these customize sections.
Just now i saw a wallpaper with 2000 downloads and 28 faves, 10 comments.
I see icons with 70 000 views, thousands of downloads, and 80+- faves.
Many of them write in the artist comment; "please show your support"
and we should!
Why should people who work hard for others keep on doing it if we can`t take a few sec to write thanks or a half sec to fav if we use or like it.
You can find things, legal, free, all they ask is some sort of reply, show your support and change this.
Thank you for reading
*i don`t upload thi
Ever wondered about IR photography (Infra Red) ?In General
Well, a few words about Infrared.
I will not get too technical cause its not my strong side, just a few words about it. Infrared photographs show a kind of thermo effect. Trees with white leaves and luminous white clouds against colored skies are the most common use for it. Many photographers on DA have tried it in the last few years and it seems to be more and more popular.
The Infrared opens a window on a parallel world intriguingly different to the one we usually see. The effect is surreal ans it shows a different kind of "documenting reality".
Here you can see the scene in normal view
And here is when using the IR filter -
We can't see Infrared light without the filter, we can only see it when It's isolated. Infrared photography is often confused with thermal imaging. It's not, It's just shows an effect similar to that. The difference is basically one of wavelength of electromagnetic radiation.
The filter shows the object be
